CHARLOTTE, NC — A disturbing episode of gun violence unfolded in Uptown Charlotte in the early hours of Saturday, July 5, when a shooting near the 200 block of North Caldwell Street left one person dead and two others wounded. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) responded at approximately 1:30 a.m., initiating a homicide investigation.
Upon arrival, officers found one person pronounced deceased at the scene and another suffering from life-threatening injuries. Later that night, a third victim arrived at a hospital on their own, sustaining non-life-threatening wounds
