The Solon, Ohio community is grappling with deep sorrow following the devastating loss of 4-year-old Niko Higashi, who tragically passed away in an accident on July 8, 2025.
Niko was the cherished son of Daniel and Andrea Higashi, and the beloved grandson of longtime Solon Italian Club member Angelo Finelli. Known for his boundless energy, infectious laughter, and radiant smile, Niko’s presence brought joy to everyone who met him.
His sudden passing has sent shockwaves throughout the Solon community, with friends, neighbors, and local organizations rallying to support the Higashi family in this unimaginable time of grief. “No parent should ever have to endure the loss of a child,” said a family friend. “The emotional, spiritual, and financial toll is overwhelming.”
Niko is survived by his parents Daniel and Andrea, and siblings Mariko, Makaio, and Keoni. A memorial service in his honor will be held on Friday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Parkside Church, where loved ones will gather to celebrate and remember his short but impactful life.
