The community of Hinkle, Kentucky is mourning the loss of Anthony Kenneth Liford, who passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was 49 years old.
Born on April 28, 1976, in Pineville, Kentucky, Anthony was the son of Gary Liford and the late Elaine Hubbard Collinsworth. He was a man deeply rooted in family values, known for his strong character, hands-on skills, and the unshakable loyalty he showed to those around him.
A true jack-of-all-trades, Anthony’s ability to fix just about anything made him a reliable source of help and wisdom to neighbors, friends, and loved ones. Whether he was working on cars, building on the family’s lakefront property in Tennessee, or simply offering a helping hand, he approached every task with dedication and heart.
Though his professional life often kept him busy at The Oven Mitt, Anthony never lost his love for adventure. He had a passion for travel and found his greatest peace riding his Harley Davidson alongside his wife, Tonya, and their close-knit riding group. For Anthony, those motorcycle rides were more than just time on the road—they were unforgettable moments shared with his kindred spirits.
On February 1, 2011, Anthony married Tonya Miles, beginning a life of shared love, laughter, and dreams. Together, they built a home full of warmth, mutual respect, and enduring partnership.
Anthony is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine, and his sister, Margaret Lynn Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Liford of Hinkle; his father, Gary Liford of Heidrick; and his children: Austin Brown of Detroit, Michigan; Hannah Rice and husband Jacob of Stanford; Trenton Schall and Ashton of Corbin; and Bryleigh Mills of Hinkle. Also mourning his loss are his brother, Gary “Buddy” Liford of Heidrick; his grandchildren, Scarlett and Harley Rice; and many other family members, close friends, and neighbors who will deeply miss his calming presence, generous heart, and welcoming smile.
Funeral services honoring Anthony’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Keith “Buster” Liford, Rev. Gary Miles, and Rev. Valerie McCann. He will be laid to rest at Payne Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Trenton Schall, Jacob Rice, Gary Liford, Johnny Phillips, James McCann, and Hugh Jones.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Knox Funeral Home and will continue until the time of service.
Anthony Liford will be remembered not only for what he could build with his hands but for the love he built around him. His legacy of compassion, resilience, and adventure will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him.
May he forever ride in peace.
